Rusty

Rusty, 22x30

Shown with Reference Photo
I'm so excited about this painting!  Rusty was so much fun to paint and now I'm excited to start on a new painting.  If anyone thinks they have an especially amazing photo of their pet (a close up with great lighting) I would love to see it- I'm looking to build up my portfolio of portraits a little right now- so even if you don't want to purchase anything- I'd love to see it- it might be my next painting!

Initial Drawing & Masking

Background and Detail Washes

Adding Light & Dark Fur
Bella, 22x30

This portrait was so much fun!  The first non-commissioned piece I've done in a long time.  The photo I worked from was awesome, and great photos with lots of bright light make the best portraits.  Looking forward to sharing many more pics of upcoming portraits with you!

First Post!

Since this is a brand new blog- I thought I'd introduce myself a little.  I have been following various blogs for a few years and recently realized how much I look forward to putting Scooters to bed, sitting down with some tea or a grapefruit margarita (or, really, a spoonful of Nutella!) and catching up on some of my favorite blogs.
So, why not start one up myself!?
Here it is- my first post.  I love sharing my work with others, and I think this will be a great way to do it.
